15 Day Prayer & Fasting Guide

From now until Feb. 5th, we are asking the entire Smoke Rise faith family to enter a time of prayer and fasting for our church budget and proposed bylaws. Those who want to participate in the fast can do so in several ways:

A complete fast (water only)
A day time fast (no breakfast, no lunch, a big supper)
A one meal fast (no breakfast, no lunch, or no dinner)
A complete, day time, or one meal fast just a few days of the week
A fast from a time consuming activity such as television
A fast from part of sleep every night

Fasting is about denying self and seeking God, so regardless of which fasting option you choose, use the time freed up by not participating in eating, sleeping, etc, to pray.

In addition to individual prayer, all active deacons are encouraged to attend special prayer sessions on January 29^th and February 5^th at 8:30 am in Pastor Toby’s office. Wednesday and Sunday morning corporate services on 1/22, 1/25, 1/29, and 2/1 will include special times of corporate prayer, and every small group will have a time of special prayer on Sunday, February 5^th.

By-laws & Business Meeting

Our last by-laws discussion meeting will be held Jan. 29th from 5-7 p.m., in the fellowship hall. There will also be a specail called business meeting on Sun., Feb. 12th to vote on the proposed by-laws.

Please pick up a copy of the proposed by-laws from the lower TWC foyer, review them and plan to attend these important meetings.

Come join us for the next 4 weeks on Fridays from 9:30-11:30 a.m., for Bible study led by Ken Benton, Don Quick and Billy Cooke, food and fellowship. Meetings will be held at the following locations. For directions, please contact the church office.
