Romans 3:10 “As it is written, there is no one righteous (who always does right), not even one.”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 5:8 “But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”
Romans 10:9 & 10 “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.”
Romans 10:13 “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
If you would like to receive forgiveness, eternal life and Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, you can express that desire to God in prayer. The words that are used are not as important as an attitude of regret and remorse. It is the understanding that only through Jesus can your sin be forgiven so Pray this prayer and mean it:
“Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned, that I have done wrong and I am sorry. I believe you died on the cross for me. Please forgive me of my sin. Please come into my heart and be my savior and my Lord. I commit my life to you. Amen.”
After praying this prayer, you should find a pastor or Christian friend to further help you. The Bible says you should be baptized after salvation. The best way to go about this if you don’t know anyone, is to call our church office at 205-647-7064 and ask to speak to Pastor Toby Shedd. Tell him what you have done and that you want to be baptized and he will help you in any way possible. Our goal is not to increase our church membership, but to increase those who are saved and to help them find direction in their lives.
